TCAP End of Course (EOC) Assessments

     Fall Block:            December      1 - 18 , 2025

English I,  English II, Algebra I, AlgebraII, Geometry, Biology, and US History 9 - 12 Enrolled in Course End of Course exams are state-mandated assessments that measure student understanding and proficiency of state content standards in a given course.  EOC exams are administered to students enrolled in the following courses: English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, U.S.. History, and Biology.  Quick Score results of these assessments will be factored into a student’s final grade in accordance with T.C.A. §49-1-302 and determined by Houston County School Board policy.  Proficiency results from EOC exams will be communicated to parents via an Individual Performance Report sent home at the start of the following school year.  Results will be disseminated Spring 2025.  Additionally, student scores can be assessed through TDOE's family portal : https://familyportal.tnedu.gov/login

Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Fall:    September 8 - December 19, 2025 English Language Arts and Math 2 - 8; 11 The DLM is an state-mandated, alternative assessment for the TCAP Achievement tests in English-Language Arts and Math.  It is designed for students with the most severe cognitive disabilities.  Students who will participate in this assessment will have it documented in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Parents will receive a report of the results of this assessment with explanations of proficiency levels.  Results will be disseminated Fall 2026.  Additionally, student scores can be assessed through TDOE's family portal : https://familyportal.tnedu.gov/login
Spring:    February 2 - May 15, 2026
TCAP - Alternative   March 9 -  April 24,  2026 Science and Social Studies 2 - 8; 10 Students with the most severe cognitive disabilities will participate in the state-mandated TCAP-Alt in Science and Social Studies. Individuals who will participate in this assessment will have it documented in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Parents will receive a report of the results of this assessment with explanations of proficiency levels. ACT (Online) Fall Grade 12 Retake: September 30, October 1 - 3, 2025 English, Math, Reading, and Science Reasoning 11 and 12 The ACT is a state-mandated, diagnostic assessment that measures a student’s readiness for college in the areas of English, Math, Reading, and Science.  ACT will provide reports approximately six weeks after the test administration.   Students will receive ACT scores  in the mail  or through www.actstudent.org.
Spring Grade 11: March 10-13 and 16 - 19, 2026
ELPA 21 for English Learners February 2 - March 27, 2026 Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing K - 12 English Learners (EL) will take the ELPA21 for ELLs to determine language proficiency.  ELPA21 assesses students in the four-language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Results will be disseminated Fall 2026.  Additionally, student scores can be assessed through TDOE's family portal : https://familyportal.tnedu.gov/login
AimsWeb Assessments      August 4 -  15, 2025; Quarterly Early Literacy, Reading, and Math PreK - 12 AimsWeb Assessments are administered at the start of each school year to all students in order to determine student need and placement in intervention tiers.  Parents are notified via letter if their child requires intervention.  The tests are also administered quarterly as benchmark assessments to determine if students are progressing as expected in reading and math skills. Reports sent home via student after initial testing and updated after proceeding assessments.
Advanced Placement May 4 - 15, 2026 AP Courses 9 - 12 Enrolled in Course Students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses will take an AP exam for the course in which they are enrolled.  The AP exam  is required by the College Board for students to possibly receive postsecondary credit in an AP course. Scores will be mailed to students by college board of can be access through student's  MyAP account.
